Google’s flagship smartphone Pixel 11 was teased recently at Google I/O 2025.

With all the (indeed impressive) AI bells and whistles, the fundamental reality of our phones hasn’t changed from iPhone 1 - we still manually manage our high-level goals with no tangible help from our super-smart AIs:

❌ Our main screen is still a set of same apps detached from our current life. ❌ Our main feed is still a reactive list of ‘problems’ you manually handle. ❌ Our AIs are still passive servants waiting for prompts—then handing the work right back.

The AI King, it turns out, has no new clothes.

We are bolting AI jet engines onto a fundamentally broken, app-centric OS paradigm. It’s a Nokia with a bigger, nicer keyboard.
